Armed with memories of the 80s fashion scene, It Girl Paloma Picasso’s risque fashion sense, and YSL’s 1972 “Scandal” collection, Anthony Vaccarello brought the Yves back to Saint Laurent with his first and evocative collection.
Exaggerated sleeves, leather dress, and loads of 80s kitsch fashion had crept into Vaccarello’s Women’s Spring and Summer Summer 2017 Collection.
Joining the 80s fashion boat was the logo mania. A pair of heels spelling out “YSL” was seen along with other accessories too.
Vacarello’s debut collection for the French powerhouse was presented at the Rue de Bellechasse – a former monastery and later a military base. Today it is in full renovation to be the headquarter and showroom of Saint Laurent in 2018.
