While majority of fashion powerhouses opted for colorful yet streamlined looks for their Cruise collection, Marc Jacobs surprised, more so, shocked the rest of the fashion world with its kitschy 80’s throwback. Titled as Paradise, the collections is a clash of 80s discotheque, MTV, neon colors, graphic prints, and paradise elements such as rainbows, flamingos, and palm trees.
From its grungy black and white base color palette, Jacobs amped up his collection by adding bedazzled appliques, pop culture-inspired motifs, and a ton of fluorescent blues and pinks on his collection. Playful and at the same time silly, Jacobs’ Resort collection was heavily-laced with nostalgia, an ode to a decade where fashion and MTV collided.
